    Bleeding Kansas was a result of popular sovereignty to determine whether they were a slave or a free state. It was a fight that broke up due to the major differences of views of people who lived in Kansas. It proves that no one wanted to compromise over slavery and instead fought against one another.

    Dred Scott Case
    The Dred Scott Case stated that the Federal Government couldn't take slaves away from the people who owned them and that no African American could be an American Citizen. It proves that people saw African Americans as inferior and that there were many prejudices against African Americans. It was caused because Buchanan wanted to end the dispute over slavery and Dred Scott wanted his freedom on the grounds he lived on.

    The hanging of John Brown
    John Brown wanted to lead a revolt to help the African Americans. He wanted to rob and armory and give all the weapons to the slaves. His plan was stopped by Henry Lee and he was sentenced to be hung. This cause the North to martyrize him and thought that he was a hero. Thus proving the differences of the North and South and how they had different ideals.

    In the election Lincoln had a plan to gain all the Northern states vote. He didn't worry about gaining any votes in the South because all of the Northern votes would be enough for him to still win the election. It resulted in Lincoln winning, but since he only gained support from the North 60% of the country didn't like him. This helps show the differences between the North and South. It also proves the degree of the North and South differences.
