    Jametown Settlement
    Leaving to find gold in America, the Virginia Company set sailed and settled on a small peninsula. They built Fort James on the river James. The first settlers came to destruction and were wiped out. New settlements arriving, is what saved the Jamestown settlement.
  • Massachusetts is Founded

    Massachusetts is Founded
    After fleeing for religious reasons, the puritans soon landed where Plymouth, Massachusetts is now. Created a religion based government and Boston was settled as the capitol. Massachusetts started thriving to become the state we have now.
  • New Hampshire

    New Hampshire
    New Hampshire was founded by John Mason. Named after the county Hampshire back in England. Built its economy on lumber, fishing, trade and etc.
  • Rhode Island Joins the Party

    Rhode Island Joins the Party
    After fleeing from Massachusetts, Roger Williams escapes to now known as Providence, Rhode Island. He gained the land from agreements with the Native Americans. He guarenteed that Religion was a choice and would be seperate from Government.
  • Pennsylvania

    Pennsylvania
    The land was given to William Penn for an owed debt. It was named after William's father. William Penn was a Quaker, which contributed to the government that was set up.
  • The Enlightenment

    The Enlightenment
    Brought over from Europe, the Enlightenment. Questions began to be asked, thoughts began to be thought of, and experiments were tested. Benjamin Franklin was one of the most famous people that took interest in the Enlightenment.
  • The Great Awakening

    The Great Awakening
    As the economy started growing for the Puritans, they grew fond of the finer things in life while losing their faith. With the Great Awakening being mostly about Religion, it helped bring many back to the church and renew their faith. The Great Awakening focuses on emotionalism.
  • The French & Indian War

    The French & Indian War
    The French & Indian War started over teritiory issues among the Virginians and the French. George Washington who will soon become the nation's first president, aided by being the Virginian's leader leading them into battle. The Native American's were sided with the French from strong relationships do to the fur trading business.
  • The Proclamation of 1763

    The Proclamation of 1763
    A Ottawa leader named Pontiac lead a group of Native Americans into battles against British forts. Trickery won the British side when they gave smallpox invested blankets to cheifs that spread through the Native Americans. After being weakened the Native Americans negotiated treaties with the British and that led to the Proclamation of 1763 where no colonist can move across the Appachian mountains.
  • The Stamp Act

    The Stamp Act
    A tax that Parliament passed on printed items such as Document, cards, newspaper and etc. There would be a stamp on the item to prove it was paid for. After boycotting the Stamp Act, Parliament repealed the tax.
