Heat engine also used steam as the driving force. When cold water was sprayed on to the out side of the cylinder, the steam would condense and the piston would move down the cylidner. Related to a pump Jack.

Originates from Newcomen engine. James Watt created a more efficient version of the Newcomen Engine. He created a separate condenser to cool down the engine rendering it more efficient. Very similar to Modern day Piston Engine.
