    Joseph Nicephore Nicepce produced the oldest surviving photograph to be taken, using a 'camera obscura' which was how photography all started. It started with a box.

    Joseph Niepce partnered with Louis Daguerre who was a Parisian artist. They had then began further investigations and refinements into Joseph’s process. However, in 1833, Joseph Nicephore Niepce peacfuly passed way due to having a stroke. Fortunately, Niepce left all his notes to Daguerre which he had continued working with.

    Robert Corcnelius, an American who worked in metal polishing and silver plating, was in the first ever image made of the first intentional portrait of a human being. Corcnelius had taken the first selfie outside of his family's store. He had written on the back of the photograph, "The first light picture ever taken." This meant that this photograph was the first image ever to of have used light.

    Two men named Hamilton Smith of the country America, and William Kloen of Great Britain, had taken the first tintype photograph which was discover by Adolphe-Alexandre Marlin in 1853. The tintype is a type of photography that is directly put onto a thin tin plate to create the photograph.

    In 1861, Scottish physicist James Clerk Maxwell had produced the first colour photograph to be made. Maxwell had created the image of the tartan ribbon by photographing it three times. He had done this through red, blue, and yellow filters. Then he recombined the images into one colour composite.

    1925 was when the most popular camera of the era was created. This was named the Kodak Box Brownie. During this time, photography was still the time of medium and large format sized cameras were being used. This was also a popular event, not only because portable cameras were used but because they were able to be held with a handle, and could be travelled with. The camera was carried and was in a metal box and 100 exposure film could be used.

    Invented in 1950, was the Polaroid. The man who invented it was Edwin Land. Edwin Land isn't a man known well by all people, however he created a way of having photos taken into an integrated film unit and producing a final photograph in seconds of following the click of a camera shutter.

    Digital camera were then invented in 1969, instead of the use of film. Two men named Willard Boyle and George E. Smith invented a charged-couple device (CCD). Light was converted with the CCD to an electronic image file. Theses files are of MPEG or JPEG.

    Steven Sasson discovered the first digital still camera, in 1975. Steve Sasson was a kodak engineer. This first digital camera made, used a fairchild of 100x100 pixel CCD. Digital cameras lead onto DSLR cameras which was first created by the company Sony.

    It started from a box and has now come to a digital camera. DSLR cameras are now in use, first created by Steve Sasson. Many different branded digital cameras are made and sold worldwide for the best quality photos to be taken. Cameras are made with companies like, 'Nikon, Canon, and Sony.'
