  • Jamestown

    The british established their first permanent colonial settlement in North America.
  • Pilgrims

    The pilgrims arrived to the New World and took settlement in the Northern New England colonies. Unlike the other colonialist, they traveled in families to create a society and their economy was in the family labor in their farms. Christianity was their religion.
  • King Phillip's War

    A chief of the Wampanoags united many tribes in Southern New England against the English settlers in for the native land. They had a victor war from 1675 to 1676 and colonial forces killed King Philip.
  • Bacon's Rebellion

    Nathaniel Bacon lead poor farmers and indentured servants in an attack against the Natives and then turned toward plantations owned by governor Berkeley.
  • The Salem Witch Trials

    Started after a group of young girls in Salem Village, Massachusetts, claimed to be possessed by the devil and accused several local women of witchcraft. As a wave of hysteria spread throughout colonial Massachusetts, a special court convened in Salem to hear the cases. Women, men and children were accused over several months. By September 1692, the hysteria had begun to abate and public opinion turned against the trials.
