The Cambrai Madonna by St. Luke

The Cambrai Madonna by St. Luke
This painting above seems to have been created during the byzantine era. The reason to this is because the painting has a christianity symbol and also a religious meaning behind it. Also, the medium of the painting seems to be painted by water colors as the colors seem darker. Lastly, the byzantine era did not focus on detail to the background of a painting.
The painting grabbed my attention because the way they painted the faces were interesting. The expression of devotion also was interesting.

Artists Sketching in the White Mountains by Winslow Homer
This painting seems to take place during the realism era. This is in-fact so because they artist paints an average person, not someone famous. It also is not exaggarated because everything in the painting is something commonly seen. Also, it accurately draws a man who is painting, and not something very inaccurate.
This painting grabbed my attention because of how the artist used dark colors. I also enjoyed how he painted an artist painting something, as a form of inception.
  • The Starry Night by Vincent van Gogh

The Starry Night by Vincent van Gogh
This painting seems to connect with the impressionist era. Impressionists try to make something look vast and magnificient, which is seen in this painting. Also, the medium seems to be an oil painting as the colors are wonderful.

  • The Eye by Rene Magritte

    The Eye by Rene Magritte
This painting is related to the surrealist painting scheme. This seems to be a surrealist painting because it is not something we logical. We see a mirror of the sky from someone's eye, which is very weird. The medium seems to be acrylic colors because of how the colors turned out to look.
I like this painting because it makes me wonder what we need to understand from the painting. I enjoy how he portrayed the sky through an individual's eye.
  • Tomato Soup by Andy Warhol

    Tomato Soup by Andy Warhol
This painting seems to be related to the contemporary style. This is because of how he makes all the colors go well with each other. It is obvious that the medium is due to watercolors. The red color to be resembles a tomato.
I liked this painting because the blazing red color caught my eyes. It's also 3D which is something that interests me. I really like this painting.
  • Romantic Textured Paintings of Couples Walking Together by Leonid Afremov

Romantic Textured Paintings of Couples Walking Together by Leonid Afremov
This seems to be a romantic painting for various reasons. In this painting there is a connection between people and nature and how romantic it is. Also, romantic paintings were used to describe what a painter feels like. This shows how people should love and not care what other people think.
I liked this painting because the colors were bright and soothing to me. I also enjoyed how they mixed romance and nature into one topic.
