The day we met
Potluck dinner at Joseph and Gordon’s when Chantel comes to Nashville to interview at Vanderbilt for her postdoc. Gordon falls instantly in love. Chantel thinks Gordon is a nice guy, but doesn’t pay much attention. (Give me a break, I was just interviewing for a job!) -

Chantel and Gordon go out to eat and do a little West coast swing. -

In her defense she had just moved to a new state and wasn’t going to get in a relationship the first week, sheesh. Gordon admires Chantel from a distance. -

Half Marathon Training
Gordon was probably born able to run 13.5 miles. Chantel was born able to eat 13.5 gallons of ice cream. So they have some common ground there. Each Saturday morning was spent preparing for the half marathon. -
Vanderbilt LDSSA presents: Truth Restored
Gordon and Chantel sing in a musical fireside they have been rehearsing for. -
2nd First Date
Nashville Symphony and pina coladas and mexican food con guacamole, Chantel had been nervous about going out with him again but it went well. No real sparks but a nice time. They realize that the number of things they have in common is totally creepy. -
LDS General Conference
Gordon is very anxious to ask Chantel out again, but conference got in the way of that weekend. He sits by her in conference. Chantel is still oblivious. -
Chantel Freaks Out
Gordon asks Chantel out again, She freaks out a little bit because she thinks he likes her and she doesn’t know how she feels about that. -
Chantel's Birthday date!
Gordon takes Chantel on a fun birthday date. Gordon shows up with flowers and a pet butterfly, and they go to dinner at the Wild Iris restaurant. Chantel lets gordon flirt with her, and realizes she likes him over a plate of fetuccini. Dinner is followed by go-kart racing and making liquid nitrogen ice-cream! That ice-cream makes running a little painful the next morning during the half marathon run. -

Grilled Cheese Sandwiches and magic
Gordon invites Chantel over for grilled cheese and to watch a church movie, Chantel says instead of watching a movie they should practice violin because he had been wanting to do that. Gordon says no, he would rather watch a movie. Chantel realizes Gordon wants to put the moves on because he is not normally a movie watcher and would usually much rather play violin. She decides that it’s okay if he wants to put the moves on and agrees to watch a movie. -

Chantel meets the family
Easter Sunday, Chantel has dinner at the Lemmon home. She survives! -
Half Marathon
Chantel suggest that they just ditch the whole thing and go get some pancakes. Gordon says no. Chantel is peeved. Just kidding. Our matching shirts had a figure drawing of our “coaches” Kim and Steve Gawrys. People think we are them. Gordon drags Chantel the last few miles. That night Chantel takes Gordon on a date to sushi and read kids books in the park. -
Gordon Meets the family
Chantel and Gordon travel to CT, Gordon meets Chantel’s family and survives… barely. They both get to meet baby Cici for the first time J Dad thinks Gordon and Chantel are too mushy. He is probably right. Gordon first starts to talk marriage. Chantel says not yet. -

C&G travel to Utah
Gordon goes to his brother’s wedding and Chantel visits with Crystal, Kedrick and the adorable baby Liam. Gordon meets Chantel’s identical twin Crystal and her husband Kedrick. And survives. Chantel meets Gordon’s siblings and extended family. Chantel says they can start talking about marriage when they get back to TN. -
Gordon Proposes
Gordon sends Chantel on an elaborate scavenger hunt throughout all of Nashville to places they had been. It ends with 24 roses and some strawberry lemonade… and a ring! :) -
Wedding and Reception
At noon on October 22nd, Chantel and Gordon will be sealed for time and eternity in the Nashville LDS temple. Everyone is invited to a reception at 3 pm that afternoon.
