Olvera Expansion Timeline

  • The Beginning

    Jamestown, Virgina was the first permanet english settlement in the New World. It was founded by the London Company in 1607. Its biggest purpose was only to make profits.
  • Troubling Times

    This period in time was very bad for the people in the New World of Jamestown. People did not know how to plant crops that could actually grown in Jamestown. Soon enough the people started to begin to starve.
  • New Orders

    After a while Jamestown was in need of some authority. Therfore, The House Of Burguesses was established. The first representative goverment in the New World founded in Jamestown.
  • The Pilgrims

    The Pilgrim Fathers founded the second colony of the Plymouth Settlement. The Mayflower Compact was a legal document written by the Pilgrims to specify some of the basic laws and social rules for their new colony. Also the very first thanksgiving was held at Plymouth, Massachusetts
  • New Netherlands

    New Netherlands which is now New York was settled by the dutch. Peter Stuyvesant and Peter Minuit were the founders. King Charles the second granted New Netherland to his brother James, Duke of York, he took a fleet to the area.
  • Roger Williams

    Roger Williams established the colony of Providence so that he could practice a purer form of Christianity. He left the church of england because some of there beliefs were not his. Alothough it gave him much pain he dicided it was time for a new church to be born.
  • Colonies and Settlements

    New Hampshire was founded by John Mason. Although it was settled by John Wheelwright and a few others that helped. Also Delaware was settled by Peter Minuit refferred as the Delaware colony.
  • Navigation Acts

    The colonies decided to represent a lucractive source of wealth and trade. Nagivational acts regulate colonial trade, During this period the slave plantations in the southern colonies were established.
  • Carolina

    Carolina was settled. Eight men received charters for the Carolinas in 1663 from King Charles II to settle lands south of Virginia. The area was named Carolina.
  • The Lords

    The Lords of Trade are appointed in England to enforce the new mercantile system and maximize potential profits for England.
    Also the Plantation Dusty was established. American Indians and the colonial government in the Virginia Colony and Bacon's Declaration of the People.
