  • Abel Tasman

    Abel Tasman, was a dutch explorer thats set out on a voyage to descover an island is the southern hemisphere next to Australia that would balance out the space beside it, soon he descovered that there was anothe island that was populated with polynesians, called the maori, the maori blew there horn and able blew his. To his surprise the maori decleared war so the had a big fight and he was the last douch to explore NewZealand.

  • James Cook

    Mr Cook Travelled to New Zealand 3 times making a map and intodusing pigs and tools food etc to New Zealand, Unlike Abel Tasman he had a good relation ship with the maori.

  • Jean Francois marie de survill

    he was nosing around, he was from france and revolved around doubtless, he kidknapped a maori man, and planted peach trees in NewZealand.

    similar to whaling sealing took place in remote eareas with large seal populations, the main place was Fiordland and Dusky Sound.

    This was another emerging industry in New Zealand it was discovered that New Zeland flax was particulary good for rope used in boats and sailing.

    with the growing trade of New Zealand there was also greater intrest in country by British government. British Navy visited the bay of islands, Whangaroa and Thames for the first time in 1820

    He arriveed in 1823, also to the bay of islands and in the following years many more arrived spreading out from the bay of islands into the top of the North island.
