A New Streak Begins
The 2005 NBA season marked the beginning of failure for the New York Knicks. The Knicks were out of playoff contention for 6 consecutive seasons. After this season, the team lost their star player, Allan Houston. -
New Additions to the Team Did Not Make A Difference

Isiah Thomas was hired as head coach of the New York Knicks in the beginning of the 2006 season. He was fired at the end of the 2008 season which marked the teams fourth consecutive season not making the playoffs. Isiah Thomas Issues
Despite having so called "stars" like Stephon Marbury and center Eddy Curry, the Knicks struggles continued. Coach Isiah Thomas had issues with Marbury, and at the end of the 2007-2008 season he was fired. -
Time for Change
The New York Knicks hire new head coach, Mike D'Antoni, and release Stephon Marbury and Eddy Curry. Marbury was becoming a problem to the organization and the Knicks felt it was time to invest in new players, like rookie Danilo Galinari. -
Anticipating Free Agency; Will Lebron Come to New York?
Even though the Knicks have put some talent on their roster (Wilson Chandler, Danilo Galinari, Al Harrington, Nate Robinson, and David Lee), the organization has cleared enough salary space to sign the upcoming free agent, Lebron James. James entered free agency in the summer of 2010. -
New York Knicks Welcome Amar'e Stoudemire
The New York Knicks signed power forward Amar'e Stoudemire to a 5 year $99.7 million contract. The organization signed Stoudemire with hopes to attract another superstar to join the team and increase their playoff chances. -

Carmelo Anthony Finally in New York
After much time of negotiating, the Knicks were able to come to an agreement with the Denver Nuggets. The Knicks sent Wilson Chandler, Raymond Felton, Danilo Gallinari, Timofey Mozgov to Denver, and recieved Carmelo Anthony, Chauncey Billups, Shelden Williams, Anthony Carter and Renaldo Balkman. -
Back to the Playoffs
After acquiring Carmelo Anthony and Amar'e Stoudemire, the Knicks finally made it back to the playoffs after 6 years of being out of contention. They lost against the Boston Celtics with the series being 4-0. -
Tyson Chandler to the Knicks
The New York Knicks signed Tyson Chandler from the Dallas Mavericks, giving the team an increase in defense and height. -
More Experience Added.
Along with signing J.R. Smith and signing last season rookie, Iman Shumpert, the Knicks also resigned Raymond Felton. The organization also signed veterans Jason Kidd, Marcus Camby, and Kenyon Martin, to help bring some experience to the "now" playoff contending team.
