United States Capital
The United States capital was named after President Washington and has seen many different people in ofiice. -
Whiskey Rebellion
In the year 1794 Pennsylvania had a bunch of really mad farmers
because their whiskey now had tax that they had to pay and this caused a big uproar and battle . President Washington had to call in the militia to help with the angryfarmers who attacked a federal marshall. -
Eli Whitney's Cotton Gin
on March 14, 1794 Eli Whitney created a machine called the cotton gin. This machine was used to seperate the fibers from the seeds. There was one bad thing about the cotton gin though and that was that they had to hire more slaves to pick the cotton. -
Louisiana purchase
On April 30, 1803 President Jefferson bought what is called The Louisiana Purchase and when he bought that for 5 cents an acre he doubled the size of our country. To this day there have never been any wars fought on this land. -
Missouri Compromise
On January 26,1820 two states Missouri which was a slave state amnd Maine a non slave state both became states at the same time. -

On July 19,1848 many womwn got together for a convention in New York to let the government know that they wanted equal rights to. This is when women got the right to vote. -
Civil War
America's biggest war is known as the Civil War. During that war there were a lot of problems and issues fixed. The biggest issue they wanted to fix is abolishing slavery. When the North won the war they felt that they were closer to everyone being equal and nit divided for some reason or another. -
World War 1
WHen World War 1 started it was because Serbia assassinated Francis Ferdinand and the United States had to draft troops not knowing if they would ever get to go home again many countries were fighting against one another until they reached a treaty in 1919. -
Brown versus the Board of Education
The Brown versus the Board of Education went all the way to the Supreme Court on Oct. 1, 1951. People wanted to put an end to segregation and wanted all people no matter what race created equally for everything. -
