  • Diamonds and gold

    They found diamonds in south Afrika and later they found also gold.

  • The first war

    The first war broke out between the dutch and the british. Everyone wanted the gold, so that was the reason for the first war.

  • The second war

    The second war won the British and they become the owners of the Dutch colonies.

  • The new law

    The goverment decided the law apartheid would take place

  • ANC banned

    When the black people was demonstrating at Sharpeville seventy black people died and ANC did get banned.

  • Nelson Mandela.

    He was sentenced to a life time in prison.

  • Resettled

    More than 3 million people were forced to move to another place, where only black people could live

  • 600 killed

    Between the black protesters and security forces it was clashes and more than 600 people where killed.

  • Mandela released

    Mandela released after 27 years in prison. And at the same time Namibia becomes independent.

  • ANC

    ANC won the first non-racial elections and Mandela becomes president.

  • New president

    ANC wins general elections and Thabo Mbeki take over as president.

  • Aid drugs

    2001 December - High Court rules that pregnant women must be given Aids drugs to help prevent transmission of the virus to their babies. The rule that pregnant women needs

    South Africa hosts the World Cup football tournament.
