Muscle Man McGinty is a liar and Tamara wants to prove it to the other kids in the neighborhood that believe him. -

Rising Action 2
Muscle Man McGinty challenges the neighborhood to a game of kickball. -
Rising Action 3
Shirley won't let Tamara go to the kickball game since it is raining. -
Rising Action 4
Tamara sneaks out of her house, hoping to catch the game against Muscle Man McGinty, but nobody shows up. Soon, Mr.Grabowsky tells Tamara to go home and threatens that he will call her mother to pick her up. Tamara goes home so Shirley doesn't notice. -
Rising Action 5
The game starts and Muscle Man McGinty gets struck out a lot. Tamara gets mad since he keeps complimenting her on her throws. -
Rising Action 6
Tamara is forced to throw more easily at Muscle Man McGinty since it is the whole neighborhood against him. -
Rising Action 7
Muscle Man McGinty tells Tamara that he had a connection to Kebsie Grobser , an old friend of Tamara's who moved away, and could give notes to her. So, Tamara gives Muscle Man McGinty a note to give to her. -
Rising Action 8
While playing kickball, everyone finds out that Vinnie, Tamara's brother Tim's best friend, died fighting in Vietnam for the Army. Vinnie's dad, Mr Pizzareli, is told that Vinnie sacrificed himself for some other troops. -
Climax
Mr.Pizzareli plants a sapling for Vinnie. Muscle Man McGinty starts to help him dig a hole for the sapling and tells everyone that they did this for his parents.Tamara feels bad for him and becomes nicer to him. -
Falling Action 1
Tamara punches Muscle Man McGinty in the face since he wrote the notes that were supposed to be from Kebsie Grobser. -
Falling Action 2
Tamara is grounded for punching Muscle Man McGinty in the face. She looks out the window to watch what the Grabowskys are doing for their party. -
Falling Action 3
Tamara goes out to sit on her roof and sees Muscle Man McGinty on it, too. -
Falling Action 4
Muscle Man McGinty and Tamara start talking. Muscle Man McGinty takes Tamara to Canyon's Pub to see Neil Armstrong taking the first step on the moon. -

Muscle Man and Tamara talk about Buzz Aldrin and their future. -

Muscle Man McGinty talks about how lonely he is since his parents died in a car crash. -
