    A devestating flood in China, had a humongous death toll of 900,000. The Yellow River is prone to floods due to the elevated nature of the river running between two dykes above the broad plains surrounding it. This was one of the deadliest natural disasters recorded.

    There was death toll of about 3.7 million to 4 million. In late 1930 it was noticed that there was wierd weather changes. By middle 1931 heavy rains started the china floods. People were left homeless, hungry, and injured.

    A devestating tropical cyclone that struck East Pakistan on November !2, 1970. The death toll was a devestating 500,000. The cyclone formed over the Central Bay of Bengal on November 8, and traveled north, the cyclone intensifyed as it moved.

    This was a megathrust undersea earthquake. It occured off the west coast of Sumatra, Indonesia. The earthquake caused a tsunami killing over 230,000 people in 14 different countries. Waves on the coast were 30 meters high. The impact from waves that big are deadly. Many people died from the wave impacts alone.

    The Haiti earthquake was measured at a 7.0, one of the biggest earthquakes recorded. The death toll was a devestating 100,000 -160,000. By January 24 there had been at least 52 aftershocks the largest being a 4.0 which is big for an aftershock.
