Hitler tried to cut the lifeline off from Britain. And that lifeline was the North American ships carrying goods over to Britain. In the first four months Hitler sank 87 ships. Seven months into the year he sank 681 ships. The americans had to do something or the war at sea would be lost. -

George Marshall wanted a Womens Auxiliary Army Corps (WAAC). There are many duties now for women including fighting on the frontlines. Under this bill women could not serve in combat positions. The bill was established on May 15, 1942. -
