Big Bulky Television
I believe I was first exposed to television which is a major media in house, for it broadcasts the news for my parents. It mainly connects my family to the society, for it informs us about the environment surrounding us. But for the age when I was exposed to television, they made me watch cartoons instead of news. -
Big Bulky Computer
This medium only allowed us to do Microsoft offices and only limited us to online links. Then again, the information being encoded in these softwares can be transmitted through the disks. -
Mobile Phone
My parents used this to communicate with each other, and when I was about 4 yo I used to play snakes at these old Nokia phones. since this type of phone only had messaging and voice call application and games. -
Newspaper
Since online searching hadn't been fully developed and fully recognized, we were always tasked in school to search for societal problems through newspaper. Just like magazine and unlike online searching, I have to scan every page to find the information I need. -
Magazine
Magazine has been a tool for searching for information, not until the digital age. This medium became a hard source of finding information, for I had to scan every page unlike online searching. -
Friendster
This social network used to be so timely and so I tried it. In Friendster, I was able to express myself freely in public for the first time. -
Yahoo Messenger
Facebook hasn't reached Philippines and Messenger wasn't made yet, and so I used this as way of communicating online. -
Skype
Communicating online at the early 2000's used to be through messages, then skype came - introducing my family to the video chat services. -
Google Search
I had complicated assignments at Grade 4, and so I was fully introduced to Google and what answers it may provide to people. Unlike printed texts, with just a click here I'll be able to gain the information I need and want. Until now, I use it. -
Facebook
Since I was 11 yo, this has been my way of communicating with my family and friends and of knowing what is happening in the society. -
Smartphone
I've known it since Grade 6, and it was like a mini computer for it can provide apps that will serve our needs and wants in daily life. -
Laptops/Computers
Unlike the old bulky computer, this allowed me to access easily the net and browse on things I wanted to search. Plus, it served as a tool so I can connect on social networking sites. -
Youtube
Youtube has been a platform of ideas and opinions of people around the world by uploading their videos publicly, and I always loved it. -
Twitter
Unlike Facebook, this is a platform wherein I can truly express myself. Then again, it limits my thoughts that I would like to post. -
Snapchat
Snapchat allowed me to post pictures to update my friends about what I'm doing, and now it also provided entertainment news. -
Instagram
Like snapchat, it allows the users to post pictures of themselves. Then again, some posts show educational and meaningful things. -
Smart TV
Unline the old bulky tv, smart television can connect to the Internet therefore allowing us to browse on a super wide screen. -
Slide Phone
It was my first phone and it can connect on Facebook, which enabled me to communicate and express myself online and offline. -
Messenger
It was under Facebook, and it allowed me to send messages online and post pictures showing what I'm doing as of the moment.
