    General George Washington
    <ahref='http://www.ushistory.org/valleyforge/washington/george2.html' >George Washington</a>He was a wealthy kid; whose family owned farms and slaves. He was strong in math and that led him to take up a career as a surveyor. He became a general in the army and also became part on the Continental Congress. He was a major patriot; he believes greatly in the forming of a new America. He would become the President of the Constitutional Convention; let all the slaves be free. He was the 1st President
  • King George III

    King GeorgeGeorge He wasn't considered really smart, didn't read until 11. He married a German-princess named Charlotte, they had 15 children. He was in charge of the seven year war and the victory on that. He did not believe that Americans would win the war and declare their independence. He struggled to keep Britain in a good spot; the social aspect was terrible; they didn't always agree. He died from a hereditary disease.
  • General Charles Cornwallis

    General Charles Cornwallis
    He was a general who fought in the seven years war. He didn't agree with charging colonist with taxes, but went and fought in the American Revolutionary War; he later became second in command in the British Army. In 1781 he surrenders during the siege of Yorktown. He was not held responsible for his actions and later became the Governor-General of India

    The treaty of Paris which involved Great Britain, Spain, France and Portugal. The treaty ended the seven years war and also started Europe and their control on places outside of Europe. It effected the American Revolution because it mean’s that the land was only Britain’s which made it a little bit easier to fight the American Revolutionary War, because the Americans to fight just Britain and also to get the French to help them, instead of the British.
  • First Continental Congress

    All the colonies would send their delegates; they would discuss what they wanted to do to make America a country. They wanted to bring resolution to Britain. The first couple of weeks were hard on them because they had been living in colonies independently and now they had to come to together and learn about each others ways of living.

    The British soldiers were asked to go to Concord and get rid of all the minutemen and colonist ammunition. Paul Revere and William Dawes to tell everyone and get them to hide it away. The minutemen met with the British in Lexington 250 British and 100 Americans were killed or wounded.

    Continental Army This army was formed so that American could fight the British and finally revolt against them. They separated themselves from the militia. Most of the Army was disband after the Treaty of Paris in 1763.

    Battle of Bunker Hill In the beginning the militia fought the British soldiers and won the Charleston peninsula. The militia was upset by that but it was their first try at war. They had a better advantage as they went to Breed's Hill instead of Bunker Hill so they were closer to the British. The British thought that the Americans would retreat once they got closer; but they didn't they had come to battle.

    It was the Continental Congress who came up with this petition to form a declaration of independence, King George III declined saying they were just rebelling. He thought he could end this war if he just sent his best forces in.

    Second Continental Congress This time they met after Lexington and Concord originally. They decided that they needed the militia to be the Continental Army to protect the 13 states. They decided that George Washington would be their commander. They also made choices like separating from Britain; they wrote and signed the declaration of independence.
  • Loyalist

    They were people who lived in the colonies,but instead of being for the American Revolution they were against it. This changed the American Revolution because it made it harder for the militia and Continental Army to fight. The colonist would ride their horses from place to place warning them about the British but with these Loyalist it made it very hard to do so. Some of them actually moved out of the colonies and went to want would be Canada. By July 4,1776 the patriots had gained the colonies
  • The Battle of Princeton

    PrincetonIt was the Americans against the British. The Americans took on the British and defeated them. The British came forward with 5,500 men and 28 guns. It was wet and muddy and they were trying to push the Americans back to Trenton. The Americans pushed back and won. They headed for Princeton but when they got close they heard a rumour that people were going to be there and some of the militia ran.

    Savannah had been captured and taken over by the British a year before, the American and French wanted to take it back. Their attempt failed and they didn't end up getting Savannah back until near the end of the American Revolution. It was one of the bloodiest wars in the American Revolution.

    They believed that the southern colonies were big loyalists and would support them; their plan was to take over Savannah and then move to Charleston. The British were moving south too, in order to protect their land; they took 8,500 soldiers they lost 5,000.

    Francis MarionMarion He was also known as the Swamp Fox. He led the South Carolinas to victory. He wasn't very smart and he didn't get along with very many of the military officers. He served in the French Indian war, which was where he gained all his military knowledge. He was on the Provincial Congress in South Carolina.He Lieutenant Colonel in the siege of Savannah and then failed in the attempt to get to Georgia
