    On August 26th, 1883 the volcano known as Krakatoa exploded. The explosion of this volcano caused the top of it to collapse into the ocean and start a tsunami. The waved reached up to 35 meters (115ft). The deadly tsunami killed 36,000 and destroyed 165 villages.

    The magnitude 7.7 quake started in the sea of Japan. The quake caused killer waves that later killed 230 people. The waves reached heights of 32 meters and managed to reach the coast of other countries such as North Korea, Russia, and South Korea.

    This 9.1 magnitude quake caused massive tsunami waves to devastate the coast of Japan. The waves were some of the biggest ever seen at about 405 meters (133 ft) high and traveled 10 km inland. The earthquake was so big that it caused Japan to shift slightly, about 2.4 km (8ft) east. The massive waves caused an estimated 20,000 deaths.
