    Roger Easton was a key figure in developing the GPS. The use of multiple satellites and highly accurate clocks helped the GPS be able to determine the precise location of someone on the ground. GPS's are significant because they help a person reach unknown locations or detect where someone is located.

  • Cell Phone Camera

    Cell Phone Camera
    Philippe Kahn created the first point, shoot and share camera into a Motorola Startac. The success with the Motorola Startac helped jumpstart the trend of connecting cameras to cell phones. This connection makes it easier for people to take a picture and share it with people immediately. I'm so glad he came up with this because it's one of the main things I use my smartphone for - to take pictures.

  • Bluetooth

    The first consumer of Bluetooth was in 1999 with a hands-free mobile headset. Bluetooth was originally created to conduct wireless voice calls, not high quality music streaming. Bluetooth is significant because it allows us to connect to speakers, printers, fitness trackers, and transfer files without the use of cords. I don't know what I would do without Bluetooth today. I use it on an everyday basis when listening to music on my AirPods to printing from my computer remotely.

    Although the GameCube was created in 2001, I was introduced to it in 2004 at the age of four. Ever since I started playing the GameCube, I have been playing video games ever since on various consoles. The GameCube was a cool console by Nintendo because the creators were able to incorporate the use of a broadband adapter to enable online multiplayer gaming. This is significant because it introduced the use of online play.

    Social Media has been around since 1997, but Instagram was the first social media app where pictures can be filtered. The creation of Facebook helped birthed other photo and video sharing social media apps like Instagram. Instagram made a big impact on my life because I was only 10 years old and it was one of the first apps I had on my smartphone.
