Six days after Egypt and Syria launched a surpsie miliatary campaign against Isreal to regain land lost in the June 1967 six-day war. The US also supplied Isreal with Arms. Oil priced rose, this was a big problem because the U.S is a oil dependant nation.

The war basically continued to the next decade because the rising forces in Iraq. We offically withdrew in 2011.
