The invasion of Iraq started with the invasion of Afganistan due to the twin towers being bombed and destoryed. We invaded Iraq on March 20th, 2003 in relation to capture Saddam Hussein. The war basically continued to the next decade because the rising forces in Iraq. We offically withdrew in 2011.
