Introduction
Michael Jordan was born in Brooklyn, New York on February 17, 1963. His family moved to Wilmington, North Carolina where he grew up and then went to high school at Emsley A. Laney High School. He played three sports football, baseball, and basketball. His Junior year he made the varisty basketball team to start his incredible basketball career.(Schwartz) -
College Ball
Michael was recruited by Duke, North Carolina, Virginia, South Carolina, Syracuse. Michael decided on North Carolina and majored in cultural geography. Michael and his teammates end up going to the NCAA Championship in 1982. Michael made a three-point shot against Georgetown with fifteen seconds left to win the game ( Thought Equity Motion Collections). In 1984 after Michael left college a year early from graduation to entered the NBA draft. -
Entering the NBA
On June 19, 1984 it was the NBA draft and Michael was picked was the 3rd overall pick and was selected by the Chicago Bulls. His first season with the Bulls he averaged 28 points on over 50 percent shooting. He was voted rookie of the year. However, the Bulls lost in the first round of the playoffs against the bucks. -
First NBA Championship
In the season 1990 -1991 Michael earned his second MVP award and the Bulls lead their division with franchise record of 61 wins. First time in 16 years the Bulls lead their division. With Michael raising as a all star with Scottie Pipen at his side the Bulls entered the NBA finals against Magic Johnson and the Lakers. The Bulls won the finals and Michael won his first NBA finals MVP (Schwartz). -
His Next 2 Championships
In the season of 1991-1992 Michael won his second consecutive season MVP and the Bulls wents to finals again and played against the Trail Blazers. Where Michael won his second consecutive NBA championship. In season 1992-1993 Michael didn't win his third consecutive season MVP award. However, the Bulls went the NBA finals for the third consecutive year. He is the first player to accomplish three consecutive NBA titles (Schwartz). -
MJ's Second Three Peat
Michael had his first retirement and went to professional baseball in 1993 to 1994. Then in 1995 he came back to Bulls and from there he accomplished his second three-peat of NBA championships. Michael and his teammates accomplished this in 1995 to 1998. Where they beat the the Supersonics once and the Jazz twice in the finals -
Michael's Second reitrement
After his second three peat Michael then had his second retirement from 1999-2001. Then Michael decided to come back for the second time (U.S. Government Printing Office).The Washington Wizards sign Michael to a two year deal. Where he played his 13th and 14th seasons and his last NBA All-star game in 2003. Michael passed Kareem Adul-Jabbar for leading scorer in NBA All-Star game history (Schwartz). -
NBA Team Owner
Michael bought the Charlotte Bobcats in 2006. Where he has been the owner for 8 years now and has had a single winning season (Schwartz). In 2013 michael Jordan had a big pay day for with making 91 million from the 2013 season. In the 2014 season fans and teams were trying to accuse Michael of intentionally losing games so they could get a good draft pick for the 2015 season. Michael said " I don't know if some teams have thought of that. That's not some we do' (Philippines Daily Inquirer).
