Start of World War 1
World War 1 started after the archduke (Franz Ferdinand) of the Austro-Hungarian empire got killed in Sarajevo on June 28,1914 by a group of Serbians.This made the Austro-Hungarians mad and declared a war on Serbia. Germany supported Austro-Hungary in the war and Russia supported Serbia. Then Germany declared war on Russia since Russia was an ally for Serbia. -
Battle of Mons
The Battle of Mons was fought at Mons,Belgium at the Western Front. The Battle of Mons was fought by the British Expeditionary Force led by Sir John French against the German Troops led by General Alexander Von Kluck.The Battle of Mons was won by the British Expeditionary Force and they also delayed the Germans from attacking a place called Marne. -

Battle of Tannenburg
the Battle of Tannenanburg was the Germans against Russia. This war was won by the Germans. When the commander found out that the Russians were sending messages about the war the commander found 2 letters. One of them showed where the Russians would go and the other showed the plans that the Germans had. When the commander read the letters he changed the plans and surrounded the Russians causing the Russians to surrender to the Germans. -
Battle of Heligoland Bight
This battle took place at heligoland Bight at the North Sea. The battle was the British Grand Fleet commanded by Commodore Reginald and Commodore Roger Keys against the German High Seas Fleet. As you can see this was done on a harbor. The British Grand Fleet won this battle but both sides had miserable losses. -

Gallipoli Campaign
The campaign was the Allied Powers against the Central Powers. This took place at the Gallipolli Peninsula in Turkey. The Allied Powers wanted to open and add a new front to the Eastern and Western Fronts. The Campain also wanted to secure the Dardanelles Strait so that France and Britain don't get into Russia. At the end the Central Powers won, but made the countries in the Allied Powers want to break away from the power of Britain. -

Battle of Fler
The Battle of Fler was fought in Courcelette,France on the Western Front. The Central Powers fought against the Allied Powers. This war was the first to be using tanks. The war got rescheduled on the 17th because all of the machines broke down. One the second time that they fought the war the weather was harsh. The Allied Powers won the Battle of Fler. -
Battle of Caporetto
This war had the Central Powers fighting against the Allied powers.The war took place at Caporetto,Slovenia on the Italian front. Italy suffered huge losses in the battles and the Austro-Hungarian camp was also worn out but not from losses but from having succesful attacks. at the end of the war the Central powers won and gained land from Italy causing Italy to lose land. -
Treaty of Versailles is Signed
The Treaty of Versailles was signed in the Versailles Palace. That is how the treaty got its name. The treaty was signed by Germany and the allies. The Treaty let Germany be strong enough to stop the spread of communism in their country. The treaty also said that the border of France and Germany can not bring attacks to the other side. The treaty also created an organization called the League of Nations that would end war throughout the world.
