    Movie TrailerJohn and Jenny Grogan have just got married and are both very happy together and both love their jobs. They have just moved into a small bungalo in Florida together but are not quite ready for kids yet. Because they are not ready to take on the responsibility of a child yet, Jen decides to get a puppy the two find in an ad in the "Palm Beach Post." They instantly fall inlove with the most energetic puppy.

    Meet the New Puppy Marley
    John and Jenny have put their name down on the energetic puppy. They decide on the name Marley. They choose this name because the singer Bob Marley is one of their favourite singers together. Before they bring home the dog, John does some research on labs and finds out Marley is the working, farm dog opposed to more of a house pet. This means Marley will turn out to be social, energectic, muscualr, physically very strong and won't like to be left alone.

    Adjusting to New Roomate
    The first night John and Jenny bring Marley home, John puts his in the garage until he can't deal with the endless crying anymore and puts him in the room with him and Jenny. Marley then begins to adjust to his new home by causing Jenny and John a lot of trouble by playing with toilet pater and eating anything in sight. John and Jenny have to "puppy proof" the whole house. Jenny makes a nickname for Marley, "Wiggles" because he got more energetic as he got older.

    Jenny and John get pregnant and Marley seems to have an intuition that Jenny is pregnant. Before when Jenny is taking her pregnancy test, Marley takes it away and finally when John catches him, the stick says positive and they laugh and cherish the moment of Marley giving them the news.

    John and Jenny find out that they live in quite the rough neighbourhood and are glad to have Marley around to protect them like a guard dog. Jenny later finds out that she has a miscarriage. Marley is a good sense of humour and comfort for them during this time. The three of them go to the beach and John and Jenny laugh at all the crazy things Marley is constantly doing.

    Marley is just turning 6 months and John and Jenny have to enroll him in obedience school. Marley is so uncontrolable that John and Jenny get kicked out of the school entirely. John and Jenny also get to know that Marley is terrified of thunderstorms when they come back one day with the garage completely destroyed. John brings Marley to the vet to get neutered so that he settles down a bit.

    Because of all the stress Marley has caused on John and Jenny, the two of them decide it's time for a vacation.Their vacation is in Ireland and they need someone to watch Marley. John gets one of his coworkers, Kathy to do the job. They come back from their vacation only to see the horrors Marley had done to the house. Jenny finds out after her trip that she is pregnant again.

    Jenny has a new baby boy who they named Patrick. Marley is starting to figure out he is not the most important one anymore in the family and he begins to feel lonely. Marley also learns to be patient with the baby and that the baby is very fragile.

    There is crime happening in the Grogan's neighbourhood. During one night, Johna nd Jenny woke up from a scream they heard coming from outside. Their 17 year old neighbour had been stabbed by someone in their neighbourhood. Marley watched over John and the girl and John helped her.
  • Pregnant Again

    Pregnant Again
    Jenny has another baby that comes very early. Their new son's name is Conor. Jenny then develops post partum depression after all she's been through with the kids and the crazy dog. She initially wants marley out of their lives and on a farm where she thought he belonged. But once Marley started to settle down, Jenny's depression went away.
  • The Move

    John and Jenny move to a bigger, more safe house and location in Boca. This way, it is a more suitable setting for children. John becomes very sucessful in his job.
  • Third in Mind

    Third in Mind
    In the past, John and Jenny wanted a thrid child and really wanted to have a girl. They have a baby firl for their Christmas present. John also turns 50 near Christmas.
  • New Beginning

    New Beginning
    John applies to an organic gardening magazine and gets the job. This job leads him and his family to Pennsylvania to a quite house in the country. They bring Marley along with them on the plane.
  • White Christmas in Pennsylvania

    White Christmas in Pennsylvania
    It is the Grogan's first Christmas in Pennsylvania and It's the first time they all see snow for the first time. Marley Loves the snow. The family has a hill that they go toboganning at on their property.
  • Age Catches Up

    Marley becomes deaf. John and Jenny begin to notice the mortality of Marley. The have watched him grow old and deaf. Marley can no longer go for long walks or go up the steps or in the snow.l
  • The Kennel

    Now that school is out, Jenny and the kids go up to Boston to visit family. John boards Marley up at a local kennel while he travels to do some research for his job. While at the kennel, Marley's stomach bloats and twists. The doctor was able to save him but Marley nearly died.
  • The Reoccuring

    Movie Clip of Marley Getting Put DownThe condition that nearly killed Marley last time is reoccuring. The vet does everyting she can to save him but she cannot. John makes the decision to have to put Marley asleep.
  • The Memorial

    John gets up the next morning to begin diggin Marley's grave on their family property. The kids all come out to say their goodbye's. They realize how much Marley affected their lives and how much they were going to miss him.
  • Final Fairwell

    Final Fairwell
    John wrote a fairwell collumn in the newspaper about Marley. The next morning when John got to work, his voicemails and emails were both full about likewise sotries about Marley. JOhn and Jenny find out they are not the only ones where animals have changed their lives of their families
