  • Beginning of the First Industrial Revolution

    The First Industrial Revolution began in the mid 18th century when agricultural societies became more urban. Inventions like the railroad, electricity, cotton gin and many others started to permanently change societies.
  • First British settlement in Adventure Bay

    In 1803 John Bowen arrived at Risdon Cove to establish the first European settlement. The Aboriginals thought that the men were ghosts of their ancestors but they quickly realised they were wrong.
  • End of the Napoleonic Wars

    The Napoleonic wars were a series of conflicts between France and the world. The French became dominant in Europe. In June 1815 the battle of Waterloo occurred and marked the end of the wars as Napoleon's side lost to British-led forces. On November 20th 1815 Napoleon was exiled to the island of Saint Helena.
  • End date of the Age of revolution

    The last revolution had the most impact because of how it removed the monarchy to establish a democracy.
  • The date of the shootout at Stringybark Creek

    The policemen were camping at Stringybark creek when they were ambushed by the Kelly gang. McIntyre surrendered but Lonigan went to grab his revolver and was shot in the head. Kennedy and Scanlan returned to camp but they didn't surrender either and they were shot dead. during the gunfire Kennedy's horse bolted towards McIntyre and helped lead him to safety.
  • Beginning date of the Boxer Rebellion

    The boxer rebellion was an uprising against foreigners and it occurred in China. Peasants first started this and the government eventually came to support it. A Chinese society commenced on a violent campaign to rid of all foreigners in China. Several countries tried to stop the attacks.
  • The date of the Battle of Beersheba

    At dusk members of the brigade stormed through the Turkish defences and seized the town of Beersheba. Some rode through while others stayed and killed the Turkish men. After this battle the soldiers wanted to take their horses home but they weren't allowed to. the horses were classed in groups. One group was to be taken into more battles and another was the horses that were of no use and they had to be killed. the soldiers weren't happy with this and some ended up killing their own horses.
