    The Germans sunk a ship by the name of the Luistania. 1,198 passengers were on the ship and died. 128 of those people were Americans. This really upset people, especially Americans.

    This act called or a draft in the United States. This meant that people would be forced to go into war. This was significant because Americans were angry that they were being forced to send their husbands, dads, sons, and themselves into war.
