    18-24 months

    Toddlers expand their vocabulary from 50 to close to 250 words during this time. Toddlers may begin to combine words to make short sentences.

    2-3 years

    Toddlers being to use simple sentences and start following grammar rules. The sentences start following subject-verb order.

    3-5 years

    Children at this age being to speak in longer sentence and suse more conventions of grammar when speaking. They start holding more conversations, and can adapt their language to fit social expectations.
  • Period: 72 to 144

    6-12 years

    Children at this age can comprehend over 40,000 words, and add more than 20 words into their vocabulary each day. Their speech should be intelligible and useful. They may even begin using slang words.
