The battle of Lexington was a result of Redcoats attempts to capture Paul Revere and William Dawes, who were patriots sent to warn colonists of approaching soldiers. Concord was a result of the search for hidden arms. Roughly 90 colonists died in the skirmishes.

  • Battle of Fort Ticonderoga

    Battle of Fort Ticonderoga
    The capture of Fort Ticonderoga was the first American victory of the revolutionary war. Benedict Arnold and a Vermont militia, the Green Mountain Boys, led by Ethan Allen, launched a surprise attack and captured the fort. This gave the American army much needed artillery that would be used for the rest of the war.
