In 1985, Lucas Papademos joined the Bank of Greece as their Chief Economist, then rising to Deputy Governor in 1993 and later Governor in 1994. -
Became Governor of the Bank of Greece
From the 26th of October 1994 to the 31st of May 2002, Lucas Papademos was the Governor of The Bank of Greece. This was a key step of his entrance to the political and business world which led to his current position as a political leader. During his time as Governor of the Bank of Greece, he was instrumental in the Greek currency transition from the Greek Drachma to the Euro as the country's national currency. -
Became Member of the Trilateral Commission
From 1998 to today, Lucas Papademos has remained a constant member of the Trilateral Commission, which is an organization set up by David Rockefeller to get a better cooperation among the United States, Europe, and Japan. -
Became Vice President of The European Central Bank
From the 31st of May 2002 to the same date in 2010, Lucas Papademos was the Vice President of the European Central Bank. In this time, he served as an assistant to ECB President Jean-Claude Trichet who has a long record of international banking and finance operations. -
Became Prime Minister of Greece
On the 11th of November 2011, Lucas Papademos became the Prime Minister of Greece. He currently still holds this high position in Greek Government and upon his entering office, he set many standards for Parliament. He also says he will implement the bailout deal before elections. -
