    Into Africa

    European states began establishing vast empires in Africa, expanding theirs. During this time period, they established administration in native areas for colonial power. With colonial power, Europe went through another industrial revolution, making advances in technology and science. Over time, Europeans essentially fully took over the continents of Africa and Asia, along with the other countries that were exploring it at the time

    Old imperialism

    The age of Old imperialism: European nations searched for trade routes along the far east and set up posts on the coasts of Africa, China, and Southeast Asia. During this time, they were exploring the new world for trade routes and slowly started to take over Africa’s territory by establishing settlements there. Then, a dozen other countries like France, Great Britain, Germany, Italy and Portugal joined in by conquering the kingdoms of Africa.
  • Slave trade

    The slave trade started in 1652; the slave trade was conducted by Dutch East India Company(VOC). This company was used for trading goods, colonization,and exploration. The slave trade would happen at Cape Cod in Massechussetts. The type of slavery used there was called: chattel slavery. Slaves were taken in their birth locationagainst their will, and then sold at Cape Cod. Slavery is awful luckyliy, this only was abolished, but it took one hundred seventy six years to do so.
  • Zulu kningdom

    The Zulu Kingdom was in the processes of becoming independent in the year 1816. This is an important date because they finally became an independent kingdom. This kingdom was led by a chief known as Chief Dingiswayo. Unfortunately, Chief Dingiswayo died in 1818 and a new person led the Kingdom that new leader was named Shaka.
  • Zimbabwe

    Zimbabwe was a British colony in 1880 to 1965 when the white minority declared independence to avoid the majority role.1980 they got independence, but political tension formed. In 1990 the political tension is still not settled with many people protesting against corruption. In 2000 the government announced they would take over white owned farms. In 2008-2013 there was a general living standard increase after a halt to major issues. Last major news being many new major protests in 2016.
  • Botswana

    Botswana is also known as Beuchenland. In 1886 was a British ruled country, but then Britain gave it up due to lack of money. In 1966 Botswana was given away, and Botswana became a country. It was governed by Sir Seretse Khama(he acted as president.) until he died at the age of fifty-nine. Since, Botswana has become a country it has been a growing and thriving democracy. The Botswana Democratic Party (BDP) is who has always ran all of the elections.

    Mozambique

    Mozambique, a former Portuguese colony and was given up in 1975 was a country before 1992, but there were some conflicts. The US and the USSR disagreements and competing it led Mozambique into a 15-year civil war well after the soviet Union's end. The US-backed insurgents and the USSR backed socialist republic was supporting the war About 1 million people dead and 13 years later the war ended by writing a more democratic constitution.
  • Namibia

    Germany conquered namibia in the late 1880s but then it was given to south africa In 1990 South Africa gave away Namibia to Namibia and so it became a country. After a series of civil arguments and a massacre known as the Kalinga massacre, Namibia was given up after South Africa broke an agreement with the un, called a peace initiative soon after Namibia was a country as of March 1990.
