Born in Hardin County,Kentucky. His parents were Thmas Lincoln and Nacy Hanks Lincoln. He had two siblings that died in infancy named Sarah which was an older and a younger brother named Thomas. -
Tragity
Lincoln's mother dies of tremetol (milk sickness). She at the age of 35 died. Lincoln became resentful of work he had as a child -
Another relocation
Abraham and his family (with a new mother) migrated towards Macon County,Illinios then to Coles County,Illinios. After a while, Lincoln would make is own in labor with wood cutting and rail fencing. As he made enough, he went on his own moving to New Salem,Illinios. -
Starting the Campaign
After a couple years, Lincoln was able to become a shop owner and gained more social skills. Then a war called "Black Hawk" between Americans and natives is where he was elected captain for his popularity. The war is when he would make multiple political connections. -
Elected
Lincoln is elected as Illionios state legislator as part of the whig party. Through his prior relationship with other political figures from the war, he was able to be elected without much effort. -
From office to law
Lincoln is amitted to the bar and became a lawyer at the John T. Stuart law firm. He also moves to springfield,Illinios. He didn't run for another term cause the vote wouldn't be in his favor. -
Law to state and back to law
from 1847 to 1849 Lincoln would serve in the house of reps. in congress however he wasn't to popular. -
Elected to president!
From 1856 to 1858 Lincoln had fought for the state legistration seat however didn't get it however, he was know in national politics from debates on slavery. -
Start of presidentcy
1860, Lincoln is held up by political opertives into the veiw of becoming president. He then was elected president with 180 out of 303 electoral votes. -
Civil War
The start of the civil war, between the north and south. Being the most deadliest in American history. Lincoln, using it to an advantage to pushing is agendas. He coined the phrase "War powers". -
Emancipation proclamation
The United States has reached it's third year of it's civil war. Lincoln made the "Emancipation proclamation"That declareds "that all persons held as slaves" within the rebellious states "are, and henceforward shall be free.". -
Assassination of Lincoln
The war still raging, congress armed with pens,and the near reconstruction of America. Lincoln was assassinated by John Wilkes at Ford theater.
