    Cesar Chavez used nonviolent tactics to bring attention to the misstreatment of farm workers. Cesar worked in farm fields when he was a young man with his family. After working as a communitiy and labor organizer in the 50's he created the National Farm Workers Assosiation (NFWA).

    Creation of American G.I Forum
    The American G.I Forum (AGIF) was created on March 26th 1948. 700 mexican Americans met in Corpus Christi, texas and created the AGIF. This organization secured the rights of all mexican Americans. The forum first delt with the wrong doing of the veterans adminstration, who denied mexican americans their earned benefits through the G.I bill of rights of 1944. After seccuring those benefits they focused on other issues like mexican american representation on the draft board and hospital care

    The Mendez Family lived in a prodomently white neighborhood and the father registered his daughter for a the Westminster main school, he was told that his kids would have to attend a mexican american school. Mendez's lawyer argueed that this was a violation of the 14th ammendment.

    strike articile On september 8th 1965, filipino grape farm workers walked out and started a boycott against the Delano area grape growers for being under payed, having poor conditions and long hours. Cesar Chavez led the strike. He led a 300 mile march from Delano to Sacramento. He also annouced on February 1968 that he would partake in a 25 day hunger strike. In 1970 The boycott was finaly success.

    in 1933 the latino californian unions led the el monte strike due to decreasing pay for agricuktural workers from the dropped pay of 9 cents an hour after the strike the wages increased back up to 20 cents an hour

    in 1968 the latino highschool students in Las Angelas were frowend upon when they used their own language and were discouraged from succeding and going to college. after school walkouts state wide and police brutality along with 13 arrests the schools gave way to reform and incraesed college enrolment
