The first significant event in defining my language development was me being born.
-
Something happened this day between my parents that resulted in my father's arm being shot off, experience trauma like that at 8 months old was very damaging to my language development
-
I have no memory until this time period of starting Kindergarten although I was not quite 5 yet when school started and already having a traumatic childhood this would have been an urgent time for intervention in my language development
-
I moved to a new school in a new city and me and my sister lived with my dad (I have no memory of my mom) and my really nice 3rd Grade teacher gave me speech and writing help.
-
Moved back to old school district, my father remarried and had a son which meant I was the one who basically ran the household, had trouble at school scoially, verbally had many wonderful teachers and people who worked at the school that new about the abuse at home some intervening seemed to be happening but not with my father's knowledge.
-
Even though I was socially ackward I tried out for danceline, when I got home my father was hitting me so hard that I put my hands up over my face to try and cover my face and head and he broke my pinkey finger, Intervention at this point was critically needed In my language development.
-
Had a break down and was hospitalized for most of my 10th grade year some intervention was created and I learned to journal but could not develope a language or a voice I couldn't properly communicate with the help.
-
Moved in with another aunt who lived in a different school district could not adapt.
