Missouri compromise
Maine becomes a free state and Missouri becomes a slave state. Spilit the Lousianna Purchase along 36 30 with the north being free and the south being slave. This caused more of a division in the country, which helped led to the Civil War. -
Compromise of 1850
Henry Clay Started the Compromise of 1850 because he gave over 70 speeches in favor of the compromise. This comprise made california a free state, it settled the dispute between New Mexico and Texas border. The Fugitive Slave law helped caused the war because it angered the North. -
Uncle Tom Cabin
It help add to the war conflic because the North was touced by the book. The South hated the book ecause they thought it was lies. So it created even more separtaration the North from the South even more. -
The Kasnas and Nabraska Act
Stephen Douglas was the one responsible for the Kasnas and Nabraska Act. The Act made two territories into states, Nabraska and Kasnas. This Act brought National attention to the issue of slavery, this helped cause the war. -

John Brown thought he was on a mission from god to get rid of slavery. He killed 5 proslavery with a Broadsword to the head. The south was very angry about this because it was there own kind. This help start the war beause it angered the south. -
Dred Scott
Emerson owned Dred but Dred lived in a free territory for several years. Emerson Moved back to Missouri and then Emerson died there. So Dred sued for his freedom becuase he lived a free territory for seveal years. The south did not like because he was in missorui so he should be a slave. -
Harpers Ferry
John Brown Tried to start a slave rebellion. He attack harpers ferry. This is what help start the war. -
Election of 1860
Lincoln was not on most of the ballets in the south. The souht said if Lincoln won thay the Southern States would start to leave. Lincoln won the election and the south Started to leave. The south was really angry that is also what help start the war. -
Fort Sumter
The Fort was causing all kinds of trouble in the south becaus ethey did not want the North to have it. The North wanted to send men but the South was not going to allow it to happen withpout a war. This is what help cause the war.
