  • Baba's desicion to make orphange

    As it states in the book "In the late 1960s, when I was five or six, Baba decided to build an orphanage"(Hosseini 13). In this quote Amir is explaining the first few steps to him making his orphanage. This was a very important project for Baba and he had spent most of his time working on it.
  • Hassan's birth

    As it states in the book "It was there, in that I lived in that little shack, that Hassan was born in the winter of !964, just one year after my mother died giving birth to me"(Hosseini 6 ).In this quote Amir tells us when Hassan is born. He also explains his birth and how his mother passed way during his birth.
  • Sanabubar ran away with a group of singers and dancers

    As it states in the book "None of us had seen Sanaubar since she have eloped with a band of singers and dancers in 1964..."(Hosseini 210). In this quote Amir is telling where she ran away after she had given birth to Hassan. It also says how long they have not seen her.
  • Baba's break from construction of orphanage

    As it states in the book "In 1970, Baba took a break from the construction of the orphanage and flew to Tehran for a month to watch the World Cup Games on television... "(Hosseini 20). As we found out Baba loves soccer he loved it when he was younger too. Baba is very disappointed in Amir for not loving this sport as much as he loves.

They also explain what happened to there government and how it changed over night.

    As it states in the book "In the winter of 1975, I saw Hassan run a kite for the last time"(Hosseini 55). In this quote Amir explains that that was the last time he had run a kite. This was also important because it was the on they won and also the one that caused Assef too rape Hassan.

    As it states in the book "I turned thirteen that summer of 1976, Afghanistan's next to last summer of peace and anonymity"(Hosseini 93). In this quote Amir explains that is this going to be that last normal summer in Kabul. He especially explained the last summer of peace.

    As it states in the book "Baba loved the idea of America. It was living in America that gave him a an ulcer "(Hosseini 125). In this quote Amir explains that Baba loves America. But is not to happy to live in America he rather live in Kabul with their family.
  • Baba and Amir visit Peshawar

    As the quote states "I remembered Peshawar pretty well from the few months Baba spent there in 1981"(Hosseini 195). In this quote, Amir is describing how vivid his image of Peshawar was from the months he and Baba had stayed before. He also describes it in a very descriptive picture.

    As it states in the book "My innards had been roiling since we'd left Kabul just after two in the morning"(Hosseini 110).In this quote Amir mentions Baba and himself leaving Kabul.This is very important because Kabul has gotten to dangerous so they fleeted to be safer.

    As it states in the book "That summer of 1983, I graduated from high school at the age of twenty, by far the oldest senior tossing his mortarboard on the football field that day "(Hosseini 131). in this quote Amir tells us his accomplishment of graduating high school in America when he had only lived there for a short time. This shows how smart Amir really is in academics.

    As it states in the article "Eventually, After peace talks moderated by the United Nations, the last Soviet troops left Afghanistan in February 1989..."(New York Times).
  • Soraya breaks news to parents about infertility

    As Amir explains in the book," Soraya broke the news to her parents the weekend after our last visit with Dr. Rosen. We were sitting on a picnic chairs in the Taheris' backyard, grilling trout and sipping yogurt dogh. It was an early evening in March 1991"(Hosseini 186). In this quote, Soraya reveals the truth about how she can not get pregnant with Amir's baby. This disappoints them and they also believe that it is not meant to be.

In this quote Amir is explaining why Kabul is different in appearance then from his childhood and how it is not the same not just in appearance. This means that the affect on Kabul was extreme and it also affected how Amir perceived it.
