In the beggining of the novel Amir says " The winter of 1975 came along and changed everything. And made me what I am today". This shows something special happened during this winter. What ever this event was it must have been enlightening or delightening. -

In the Novel Hassan says to Amir " I know you'll be a good writer".
This shows Hassan is a good friend and encourages amir. Clearly, another figure in the story puts Amir down. -
Assef is making fun of Amir and Hassan
While Hassan and Amir climb a tree Assef comes and " puts on his brass knuckles, so Hassan pulls out his slingshot and shoots Assef. This shows Hassan is brave while Amir cant stand up for himself. Assef is obviuosly is a bully and is unsustainable. -
Amir wins the tournament
When Amir narrartes " My kite caught a lucky gust of wind and cut the other kite. This shows Amir lucked out and might be forshadowing something. Amir's dad really wanted him to win, and now his dad is happy. -
Hassan gets raped
When Hassan chased Amir's kite, Amir saw Hassan get raped and " just stood there and run away". This shows Amir wouldnt do the same for his friend as he would do to Amir. This also shows hassan would do anything for Amir. -
Amir's birthday party
Amir has his party and Assef " gives [him] a book on Hitler. This shows Amir and Assef are enemies. Assef knows Amir hates Hitler so he gives him the book anyway. -
Amir hides his presents under Hassans matress
Amir " hides the cash and wrist watch under Hassan's matress. This shows Amir isnt a good friend. Even though Hassan didnt hide the presents he says he did because he is a good friend. -

Amir went to the hospital while laughing at being beaten up
Amir says " I was put into the hospital". This shows amir really cares for Sohrab. He also atoned for his sins. -
Amir gets Sohrab a kite
Amir says " I bought a grren kite". This foreshadowes when Amir wins the kite fight. So Sohrab is a former symbol of amir. -
Rahim Khan informs amir of sohrab
When Amir says "Rahim handed me an envelope". This portrays Amir has an important job to do. This is to atone for his sins done to Hassan. -
Amir gets beaten up
When amir says" Assef puts on his brass knuckles". This shows Assef means buissness and really wants to hurt him. In order to get sohrab amir must get beaten up. -
