The descendant of King Jayavarman VII is King Jayavarman VIII. This new King has some new rules that reflect on the Empire's religion and culture. The King renounces Buddhism and the Buddhist temples and images to be destroyed. Then Hinduism becomes the main religion. He finishes his time as king in 1298
