The Khmer Empire begins. King Jayavarman VII becomes chakravartin ("King of the World") which sparks the rise of the Khmer Empire.

King Jayamarvin II reign as the King of the Khmer Empire comes to an end. The original ruler died and Jayamarvin III came in to become the new king.

Angkor Wat was built in 1135 during the reign of King Suryamarvan II. It was a Hindu Temple. The area covered 200 hectares of land. It is believed that it took around 30 years to build because of where it was built and how big it was.

The Thai army attack the Empire. This results in the Khmer's abandoning Angkor. The location is soon forgotten as a massive jungle covers the area.

The Khmer Empire is a lot smaller now than what it used to. The Empire used to cover areas such as Thailand. It now only covers the area of Cambodia.
