Jayavarman II forms the Khmer empire and creates the capital of the new empire. He is also crowned King of his new founded Empire.

With the death of the founder of the empire Jayavarman son takes the throne.

When Indravarman was crowned, he ordered the building of temples Preah Ko and Bakhong. Preah Ko was built to honour the king's family. The Bakhong temple was built as his official state temple.

When Indravarman died his Son Yasovarman was crowned emperor, he builds Yasodharapura the new capital, on the site of Angkor Wat and rules until 917 CE.

After Yasovarman death the crown was passed onto his son Harshavarman then unto Ishavarman II another of Yasovarman son. He and Jayavarman IV rivaled for the throne until Ishavramans death, then Jayavarman reigned supreme and established his capital at Lingapura

After a few more emperors rise and fall and more monuments are built, a Khmer civil war takes place between Jayaviravaraman and Suryavarman I. The civil war started when the two princes rivaled each other and battled for the throne. This started after Jayavarman V’s death, the throne was forcefully taken by Udayadityavarman I. Short after his death the war started, the find of the outcome was the victory of Suryavarman I and rules until 1050

Suryavarman II is crowned king and sarts designs on they famous Angkor Wat.

Angkor Wat is partially burnt down from the chams (indigenous people of the khmer empire and viets), but Jayavarman VII becomes famous for defeating the chams and is crowned king in 1181 CE.

JayavarmanVII built Ta Prohm in honour for his mother and Preah Khan to his father.

Angkor Thom (“Great City”) is finally built and named the new capital of the Khmer Empire.

After the Siam invasion, the empire eventually falls as it bit to much to chew. The capital is abandoned and left for dead, this is the end of the Khmer Empire.
