The Chams went south of Angkor and surprised the Khmer and defeated them at the then Capital of Yasodharapura. The Chams looted the city and killed the Khmer King. -

After the Thai attack they khmer Empire fleed out of Angkor and relocate their captial to several different places. -

Rajendravarman died and is succeeded by Jayavarman V and becomes king of Kambuja which is now called the Khmer Empire.
