Angkor Wat was build
King Suryavarman II built angkor wat in 38 years the first half of the 12th century from 1113 ro 1150, dedicated to the Hindu god Vishnu. It was a replica of Angkor Thom style art. -

The Invasion took place during 1st January 1177 to 1st January1178. They took most of the Khmer empire’s eastern parts. -

Cham Kingdoms falls and Khmer expands
Jayavarman VII rules the Khmer empire. Jayavarman defeats Chams, and expands to its highest point in history in what is now Laos, Thailand and Burma. This took place during 1st January 1178 to 1st January 1183. -

New King and Buddhism Destroyed
Jayavarman VIII becomes king. He renounces buddhism and orders everything Buddhist to be destroyed and that Hinduism becomes the main religion again. His reign lasted 48 years from 1st January 1181 to 1st January 1219. -

During the entire 14th century Buddhism becomes important in the Khmer empire again and is now the main religion of the Khmer kings. -

Khmer Empire ends
The Khmer empire ends when Angkor is attacked by Thai, their community converting to Buddhism, increasing trades which removed Angkor’s strategic look on their empire and when climate change brings an extended drought the the land. The Khmers abandon angkor. -

The Thai Siamese king attacks and defeats the Khmer king. -

during the 18th century the Vietnamese armies continuously attack the Khmer forces in Mekong river delta and defeat the khmer. The current borders of Cambodia are made. -

Jayavarman II founded the Khmer empire in 802. He was throned as devaraja (god king). It took up Cambodia and parts of Thailand, Laos and Southern Vietnam. -
