     The Battle of Bunker Hill
    This was the most important continental victory in the U.S. and was fought during the siege of Boston. The battle is also referred to The Battle of Breed's Hill.

    The British were on their way to subdue the colonies. They started off with recapturing New York. First thing they did was drive Washington out of Long Island and then they drove him off of lower Harlem. Washington finally retreated to the White Plains. But this is where Washington was ultimately able to hold off the British. The British drove Washington out one final time to New Jersey.

    George Washington's army had been defeated many times, but had finally captured many of the Hessians. After this event, Wasington had devised a plan to cross the Deleware at night to catch what was left of the Hessian force of guard. Many off the Hessians surrendered and only few troops escaped.
