    The ship carried 1,959 people and out of those people 1,198 of them drowned, 128 of them were Americans. The Germans were the cause of this,they torpedoed the ship.It took out 18-20 minutes for the ship to sink in the Celtic sea leaving only 761 survivors.This was the world's largest passenger ship.The boat sank 11 miles off southern coast of Ireland without warning by a German off the south coast of Ireland.

Germany declared the area around the British Isles a war zone and all merchant ships, including those from neutral countries was going to be attacked by the German navy. When the Germans attacked, a British passenger ship called the Lusitania sank on May 7, 1915.
