    The Battle of Bolimov happened around the town of Bolimov on the west side of Germany. It was a battle between Germany and Russia and is most known for the German's use of poisen gas. The poisen gas failed becuase of the tempuratures and the other troops throwing them back across the German lines. There were many German casualties.

    John Simpson Kirpatrick landed on the shore of the Gallipoli Peninsula as part of the ANZAC forces. ANZAC stands for the Australian and New Zealand Army Cop.On the next day he beared a wounded comrad on his shoulders. He spotted a donkey and started making it useful and had it carry the wounded soldiers safely to the beach.

    In the third attack on Anzac Cove Simpson was shot by heavy michine gun fire and died at the age of 22.He died in the Ottoman empire while leading his donkey and a wounded soldier to the beach and to safety. When Simpson was shot his donkey continued with the soldier on his back to safety.

    The Gallipoli Campaign ends on January 9, 1916 with an Allied defeat and an Ottoman victory. A lot of people lost their lives and the most of the original troops where from New Zealand. They were evacuated from Gallipoli and were sent to "rest camps".

    Even though the exact day is unknown, Throught 1965 John Simpson Kirkpatrick was remembered in the form of paintings, statues, and postage stamps. A bronze statue of John is currently standing at the shrine of remembrance in Melbourne depicting him and his donky, who was called many names including Duffy, Abdul, adn Murphy.
