Jacob Bandixen Act's Timeline

  • Navigation Acts

    Month and Date not known. The act meant that Colonist could only trade with Great Britain. The colonist wanted to trade with the world so this introduced smuggling.
  • Sugar Act

    Sugar Act
    Lowered tax on sugar. The colonist were angery with this act because now they had to actually pay the tax.
  • Proclomation of 1763

    Proclomation of 1763
    This act made it so colonist could not settle any land west of the Appalation Mountains. Colonist grew angery because they had bought that land and now they could not settle it.
  • Stamp Act

    Stamp Act
    Tax on all printed materials. It made printing for the colonist even more expensive than it already was.
  • Declaratory Act

    With this act Parliment could tax the colonies no matter what the colonies said. The colonist wanted to be taxed by their colonial goverments not Parliment.
  • Townshend acts

    Townshend acts
    Imported goods were taxed under this act. The colonist at this point were just angery with any tax Parliment put on then and this act wasn't any different. By 1770 most of the Acts were reapealed.
  • Tea Act

    Tea Act
    This allowed East India to sell tea without having to go through merchants. Many colonial merchants got mad and started not letting the ships unload which lead to the Boston Tea Party.
  • Coercive Acts

    No date Given. This act Closed Bostons harbors in hopes that it would isolate them, but other colonies helped them. They sent them food and clothing.
