    In December 1948, the UN General Assembly passed Resolution 194. It was made to establish peace between Israel and Arab states. However, many of the resolution's articles did not happen since the resolution was opposed by Israel and rejected by the Arab states, or were diminished by war as the 1948 conflict continued.
