Muslim Arab Army fights Tang Dynasty
During this year the Muslim Arab Army and the Tang Dynasty fought near the Talas River. The Muslims made a deal with one of the Turkish tribes in the Tang army, and during the battle, the tribe attacked the Tang army by surprise and helped to defeat it. -

Ming Dynasty
Up to this time Muslims had maintained a separate alien status with its owns customs, language, and traditions. However during there Ming Dynasty Muslims gradually became fully integrated into the Han society. This would be considered the Golden age of Islam in China. During the Ming dynasty the capital, Nanjing, was a center of Islamic learning. -

Ch'ing Dynasty
The Ch'ing were Manchu not Han and were a minority in China. During this time they employed tactics to divid and conquer to keep the Muslims, Han, Tibetans, and Mongolians in struggles against one another. It was also during this time that anti-Muslim sentiment was spread throughout China and the use of Han soldiers were used to suppress the Muslims regions of the country. -
Manchi Dynasty Falls
When the Manchu Dynasty fell the Republic of China was established by Sun Yat Sen. Sun Yat Sen immediately proclaimed that the country belonged equally to the Han, Hui, Man, Meng, and the Tsang peoples. -
Mao Zedong's Revolution
After Mao Zedong's revolution and the beginning of communist rule in China, the Muslims, as well as other ethnic minorities found themselves once again oppressed. They actively struggled against communists before and after the revolution. -
Muslims Revolt
During this year Muslims revolted twice in hopes of establishing an independent Islamic State. However these revolt were brutally suppressed by the Chinese Military followed by the use of anti-muslims propaganda. -
Religous Freedom
Religious Freedom was declared in 1978. Since then the Chinese Muslim population has been growing. There are now 28.000 Mosques in the entire Peoples Republic of China with 12,000 in the province of Xinjiang. -

Sung Dyansty
By the Sung Dynasty the Muslims who had immigrated to China during the Silk Trades began to have a great economic impact and influence on the country. They virtually dominated the import/export business.
