  • James Watt

    James Watt
In 1698 James Watt invented the watt steam engine. The steam engine was the first type of steam engine to make use of a separate condenser. It was a vacuum or "atmospheric" engine using steam at a pressure. The steam engine does not start at one you have to do multiple things in order for it to start, and has low efficiency. Although it has some disadvantages the steam engine can run just about anywhere because you can produce steam anywhere, it is more powerful than a water mill or wind mill.
  • George Stephenson

    George Stephenson
In 1698 George Stephenson invented the steam engine. The steam engine is a heat engine that performs mechanical work using steam as its working fluid. Steam engines are external combustion engines. The engine could be taken to any place of work. But the engine is also heavy so it cannot be used in but for trains . The steam engine is still used today just more advanced in most of the trains so they can work more efficiently.
  • John Kay

    John Kay
In 1733 John Kay invented the flying shuttle .The flying shuttle was one of the key developments in the industrialization of weaving during the early Industrial Revolution. It made weaving looms more efficiently . Although people were jealous of the idea and threatened John Kay. Today people are rarely using them but they are used for allowing for wider fabrics.
  • James Hargreaves

    James Hargreaves
In 1764 James Hargreaves invented the spinning jenny. It was a multi-spindle spinning frame, and was one of the key developments in the industrialization of weaving during the early Industrial Revolution. The spinning jenny was expensive because it produced a lot and more efficiently and it put many people of their jobs. Although they have some disadvantages they spinning jenny produced more thread yarns with less spinners. Today use a loom to produce more cotton .
  • Richard Arkwright

    Richard Arkwright
In 1768 Richard Arkwright invented the water Frame. The water frame is a water-powered spinning frame which was an easy way to create cotton thread. The Water frame was a big thing in the 1700s because it was able to spin 128 threads at a time which made it faster ever than before . Although if you did not have any water it would not work. The water frame is more advanced today and influenced other inventors to invent more faster inventions like the water frame.
  • Samuel Compton

    Samuel Compton
In 1779 Samuel Compton invented the spinning mule. The spinning mule was a machine used to spin cotton and other fabrics. Most of peoples jobs were cut off because of the spinning mule because it was so advanced . Factory owners got rich off of the spinning mule because they had to pay less for employers. Modern spinning mules are still used today they just have a different name and they are used to spin woolen yarns.
  • Richard Trevithick

    Richard Trevithick
In 1804 Richard Trevithick invented the Steam locomotive. The steam locomotive is a train that produces its pulling power through a steam engine. The steam locomotive helped the railroads grow, more goods and larger amount of good were able to travel faster . Disadvantages were that the locomotive produced pollution from the coal , their was intense labor. Today locomotives advanced into more modern trains that are more faster and efficient .
  • Robert Fulton

    Robert Fulton
In 1807 Robert Fulton invented the steamboat. The steamboat was used to carry supplies across the water and passengers using the power from steam. One of advantage were that it allowed travelers to go upstream and downstream. This allowed Americans to travel virtually everywhere by water. A disadvantage was that the steamboat could explode and everyone would die on the boat. Today boats can travel farther and faster than the steamboats
  • Henry Bessemer

    Henry Bessemer
In 1855 Henry Bessemer invented the first inexpensive mass production of steel. His steel process allowed the world to have a new way of producing all kinds of things. This newfound process had a massive impact on the British metal industry. Advantages were steel was able to produce and more faster . Disadvantages were that steel can easily bend from heat or melt. Today steel is used to make all kinds of metallic technologies like phones.
  • Thomas Edison

    Thomas Edison
In 1879 Thomas Edison invented the light bulb. We use the light bulb in a everyday us, it dramatically changed the way we live our lives. The light bulb was small to handle , and their were no toxic materials needed. Disadvantages were that it wasted energy , and are useless during a power outage. Today light bulbs are used to make things that involve lights like Christmas lights and and regular lights.
  • Nikola Tesla

    Nikola Tesla
In 1891 Nikola Tesla invented the Tesla coil. It is used to produce high-voltage, low-current, high frequency alternating-current electricity.Disadvantages are that it may shock you when you are to close to the coils. But , only a small placement are required and produce energy. Today the Tesla is still used to produce energy and have wireless connection.
