    Jethro Till was a British farmer who participated in the Agricultural Revolution. WIth Till's invention, seeds could be planted more efficiently. You could plant the seeds deeper in the ground, and so you would get more harvest and food out of this invetion.
  • John Kay invents the flying shuttle

    John Kay invents the flying shuttle
    This flying shuttle was a very efficient invention. It was used to hasten the making of cloth. This cloth would be made of yarn and cotton, and it was faster than the typical spinners. It was a success, and it caused the production of weavers to climb high.
  • James Watt constructs the first steam engine

    James Watt was a Scottish man who came up with the steam engine when he saw the ineffective way steam had been used before. He worked with Mathew Boultan, an entrepreneur, to develop it. It could, just like the older less efficient version, be used to pump water out of deep mines. It could also be used as a source of fuel for boats.

    Due to the Industrial Revolution, there was a increasing space between the middle and working classes, and Karl Marx and Fredrich Engels resented this. They were believers in communism which would be brought about when the oppresed workers rebelled against their middle class masters. Communism would be a very left wing form of government where the government would own everything and there would be no social classes in which some were poor and some were wealthy. Everyone would be middle class.

    When the war came to an end, slavery was permanently ended in the United States, and the country came back together as one. WIth new political stability, the US could now focuss and really industializing and developing new technology. Part of this included building railroads acroos the country, and part of it was using tapping into its natural resources.

    At first, the industrial revolution in Germany was very scattered. People were coming up with inventions, but everything was very scattered. However, when the railroads started being developed, the big cities became connected with the coal mines and serious urbanization happened. The Germans started to use their natural resouces, such as coal, and they became the dominating industrial country in Europe.

    These unions were formed because many did not have enough rights and protection in factories. But they were not allowed to go on strike as a form of protest. Finally, the British Government gave them the right to strike, so the workers could decline from going to work it their factory was oppresing them. They would instead meet together and make a public display of the injustice.
