    A man named Jethro Tull believed that by manually throwing seeds onto the ground, we were going too slowly and wasting seeds. The seed drill "drilled" the seeds into the ground as to not waste seeds. This was one of the first inventions that kickstarted the Industrial Revolution.

    John Kay invents the flying shuttle
    An inventor by the name of John Kay, invented a little mechanism called the flying shuttle. This little thing flew back and fourth through the loom to help make the process of making cloth faster, and arguebly easier.

    James Watt was a Scottish inventor/engineer who wanted to revolutionize the textile industry. He ended up doing that and more when he (with the help of mathew Boulton) invented the first steam engine. His engine quickly became the main source of power to work the pumps in mills, and do much more.

    Karl Marx and Friedrich Engels wrote a manuscript in 1848 called The Communist Manefesto. this was a very importand peice of political literature because is explained the flaws in capitalism, and introduced a new social reform called communism.

    The north wins the Civil War in the US, defeating the southern Confederacy. As a result of this, slavery was abolished, and there was also a big technological boom in the US. There are new labor reform laws made, public schools become a more widespread idea, and laws were made to improve prisoners lives post prison,.

    In the 1870s, germany starts to industrialize, but since they are politically devided, Germany had little "pockets' of industrialization. Germany industrialized where there were natural resources.

    British Unions win the right to strike
    In 1824, the Combination Acts that prohibited strikes and Unions in England, were repealed. Soon after, the people won back the right to strike (in 1875). Workers could now go on strike in order to have better conditions and hours at work.
