John Kay invented the flying shuttle otherwise known as a wheel shuttle. The purpose for the shuttle was to speed up hand weaving as it genuinely takes a while. After his invention of the flying shuttle they put the hand weavers basically out of business!

The spinning Jenny was invented by James Hargreaves in which completely changed and shaped the process of cotton spinning. The machines 8 spindles instead of the average one which means people could spin 8 times for thread. Steam engines were one of the most powerful machines used in the mines. But James Watt noticed an obvious flaw in them, they wasted a lot of energy and just didn't work as efficiently as he'd hoped. So, James Watt added a separate condenser which fixed all the initial problems. William Murdoch was the first ever person to discover coal gas lighting. As one night he was sitting by his fire and he put coal dust in the bottom of the pipe then put the pipe in the fire. Coal gas was made and it came out of the top piece which shone with fire and he realized he discovered coal gas lighting.

The titanic was a luxury steamship which tragically hit the side of an iceberg and sunk in which more than 1,500 people died.
